The focus of this research is to strengthen the linkage between mathematical models, metaphors and empirical studies of attractors explaining stability and change.

Aim
The research aims to review how the concept of attractor has been used in SES research, to revisit how models can inform theorising and to articulate a configurational understanding of attractors as informed by analytical sociology

(Meta) theoretical framework
Mechanism-based theorizing, social realism, system dynamics modelling and process-relational.

Methodological approach
The study will use methods such as systems mapping, process tracing and ABM.
