To ensure that our work remains policy-relevant, grounded, and forward-looking, PLURALAKES is supported by an International Stakeholder Advisory Board. The board plays a key role in guiding the project’s strategy, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and connecting our work to global networks and policymaking.

  • Tim Duckmanton, Lake District National Park Authority (UK) – Strategy and environmental planning lead for one of the UK’s most visited freshwater regions.
  • Vilma Lehtovaara, North Karelia Biosphere Reserve (FI) – Coordinator for sustainable development and regional stakeholder engagement in Koitajoki-Koitere.
  • Harry Boonstra, Wetterskip Fryslân (NL) – Strategic advisor for water management and ecosystem restoration in the Frisian lake system.

International experts:

  • Dr. Wouter van de Bund, European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) – Specialist in water quality and ecosystem service indicators at EU level.
  • Maciej Krzysztofowicz, JRC Competence Centre on Foresight – Expert in long-term scenario development and knowledge co-creation.
